Well, the Canidians certainly didn't vote for him. The thread just seemed to be blaming a very small portion of the population for Trump winning. There are a lot of broad brush strokes. Many others voted for him but aren't rebuked the way farmers are. If they want to help open the door.
Basically, I will never understand anyone voting against their interests. The farmers are an easy target, but are equally as responsible as the bigots and all the deplorables. Seeing several examples of farmers who said they didn't think it would happen to them just adds to it.
I don't understand it either. I've been in agriculture all my life, grew up on a farm, and own a small farm. Farming is not a way of life,it is big business, they vote with big business. Those who think it is a way of life are hobby farmers or soon to be non-farmers.
Yup. Granted I’m not family to any, but know enough that are being effected and, *surprise surprise*, many STILL voted against their own interests and for Trump. They didn’t wanna listen and brought this on themselves. My empathy (if I had any in this situation), would be wasted on them.
You should not feel bad for others' decisions. It was theirs to make. I don't understand why anyone voted for him. I know at least one farmer that didn't. But then I may not be a farmer.
They were too busy voting for the deportation of the brown folks….. and making sure that a black woman didn’t get into office. They had their priorities…… they can suffer the consequences of their hatred and their racism.
Everyone with any harm done should sue Trump. Load him up with piles of class action lawsuits. He’s a complete disaster of a grants manager. Knows nothing about proper fund management or fiscal responsibility. King contract breaker. Sue away, America!
I was able to see the results of the election. Well, I guess I was able to judge the results of the election. And they are called red states for a reason.
Judging the numerical results is easy. Painting with a broad red brush is less accurate. Farmers make up a small portion of the population, even in red states. No excuse for their vote, but they are easy targets for a much larger problem.
They knew what they were doing. They weren't confused or tricked. It's cronyism. They voted the Devil in to hurt people they don't like in exchange for favors. Now they're shocked to find the Sultan of Scams was in fact lying the whole time. And they're going to blame Biden while asking for it.
I do. The man I once considered closer than my actual father. He's quiet and hardworking, and has told me more than once that Trump is ordained by God and will save America from the woke mob that is turning them to Satan.
So, in that way you're right. They're not always cronies. Some of them are insane doom cultists. And some are both. And before you come again. I did not say "all farmers". I was referring specifically to the ones who loudly voted for Trump and are now angry they're not getting paid.
Guess I misread your post. It was late, and the entire thread seemed to be blaming farmers for trump winning. Farmers make up a very small portion of the population. I agree. I never figured out why farmers vote republican, they always seem to screw them in the end(no pun intended).
That's fair. I've certainly misread posts before. As a Florida resident, the only thing that baffles me more than farmers are the first & second generation immigrants here who voted for Trump, that are now surprised and angry that their family members are being deported. I feel bad for their kids.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAA!!! These are probably the same asshats that cheered when SCOTUS granted POTUS unconditional immunity. Do you know what Trump is going to do if the suit is successful? He's going to roll it up and fuck it. Like every other lawsuit. Suck your loss, bitches.
I appreciate that you are not accepting all farmers voted Trump, and that we still need to unite even though it is a hard pill to swallow. But I got curious and googled this. Unfortunately most farmers did vote trump (I know it shows the counties but I am betting there is strong correlation)
First,he told you what he would do, he had the project 2025 blueprint all written out, you didn't believe what he was telling you so now he's showing you.
Less than 2% of the US population are farmers. If every one of them voted for Trump, which did not happen, they could not have put him in office. They produce the food the other 98% of you eat. What did you do last year that fed, clothed, or produced fuel for anybody. Don't bitch with a full mouth.
One of the stupidest thing MAGAt's have done is think dear leader would exempt them from his kaos. You were all expendable, usful idiots to the useful idiot. No sympathy from us.
Misconceptions about farms, land holders, farming, and farmers abound. The bottom line is that small farmers and consumers are hurt the most by misguided government policy. Billionaire land holders, forigen governments, and family held corperat farms survive regardless of politics.
And not to mention the losses that the farmers have experienced due to aid programs. That’s another $2 billion that Trump has wiped away. From the farmers.
If Trump DOGE decides the CRP program is a waste, I stand to lose money this fall. Money that goes to pay local and regional contractors, you knows...jobs.
I recognize the importance of farmers and their contribution to the American well being. There are no misconceptions about farmers other than a great majority of them voted for Trump and now they’re backpedaling.
Not really sure where this conversation and exchange is going.
Misconceptions by the general public. Those involved in ag have few illusions or misconceptions. It is obvious you know what is happening. I would hope others might learn a little more about agriculture and just how complicated it is.
Doesn't work. trump fucked them over last term too. If they could learn they'd never vote republican - every modern recession has been at the hands of republican regimes
Vance is in the business of buying land and farms. It’s called Acre Trader. They want farmers to rent and do the work while the Acre Traders have the profit. Do farmers know this?
What ever medium you feel is appropriate to reach as many as possible, if what vance says were to come to fruition
All farms are saddled financially with the cost of import tariffs imposed by the administration they voted for
Example Potash a 25% (tax) the farmer has to absorb
That’s it!
There is a huge lack of information about this.
This group should be showered with every possible way to make it clear!
I’m no American so not much informed about who to contact.
They think he “has a plan.” Actually there’s no plan and he doesn’t care. He wants their land sold at liquidation prices to his billionaire friends. Also, Democrats have completely ignored the rural working class ON PURPOSE. The same billionaires paying Trump are also paying the Democrats.
Yep! But when you are ate up with the dumbass, sometimes you have to find out the hard way!
Pres. Biden, VP Harris, Gov Walz & many more told the farmers what would happen.

i still dont think they should lose their livelihoods. unless they are big corpo farmers. the brainwashing that made people vote for trump is just as much to blame on the democrats for doing nothing
Did not say they weren't. Rural areas comprise small towns villages with non farmers living within them. They vote republican also. Like other areas, some vote democrat some vote republican including farmers within the area. Just mostly red.
It was the get big or get out shit that put me off the farm. My banker said my 25 year old equipment was with more than I paid for it. He offered me $90 K to rent more land and buy equipment. Corn and bean prices were at or below production cost, and interest was headed for 10%. Recipe for desaster.
Right, the current farm bill is way over due for renewal. In a nut shell the bill was supposed to stabilize producer and consumer prices plus ensure we do not have food shortages. Over the years, food assistance(snap), conservation, and other programs have been added to the farm bill.
They don’t get government grants or vote for Trump. The ones around me that do are racist white trash and I would be happy to see them loose everything .
Carl Young was a Nazi sympathizer . He worked to purify the Jewish presence of Freud . He worked with bill w and the Oxford group to start Alcoholics Anonymous. The Oxford group is a Christian organization started by the MRA ( moral re-armament. ) . A pro facist group anti communist group .
No mercy. After 4 previous years of this moron, you STILL voted for him. You don't get to claim you "didn't know." You knew full well what you were voting for and you did it anyway. No damn mercy and no tears.
I agree , but this 2016 all over again. Republican’s ran an unelectable ticket with deeply unpopular and insane “policies” . The Dems didn’t focus on this and now the GOP is doing what they said they would. While the protests are heartening, they’re 6 months too late
Ah, that’s so cute. Farmers voted for scorched earth and now they want the big bad wolf to suck it up and go home. I might be starving but I’m still going to say “We told you so!” Fuck off!

Let them join our movement to save democracy.

I’d love to say that I have sympathy for those farmers that voted for Trump: I don’t.
I don't think farmers should get any further welfare through subsidizes & assistance
They voted for Trump they should suffer like every other American

Does who they voted for really matter though? They're Americans. They grow all our food.
