The Elon Musk backed pro-Russian candidate in Romania, Calin Georgescu has been arrested. Authorities raided him like the crook he is and found at least $10 million in cash and tickets to Moscow. He may have also bumped his head a little bit too.

We are in a conflict with both the Putin and Trump governments. This has to be recognised soon by all European govts to enable the defensive action we need.

I’m not sure that the EU, and certainly not the UK, has the backbone to push back against Putin and Trump. As you’ve said before Simon there is only one way to deal with bullies. This procrastination only helps Putin and Trump. As the risk of quoting Churchill it should be “action this day”.

Musk has now posted several times in support of Georgescu; Trump has also threatened Romania in the last few days trying to pressure them to allow the Russian operative to run for presidency. JD Vance specifically went to Europe to add pressure on this issue
