Simple economics. If US companies can sell NG at higher prices to Europeans they will figure out how to 'open' these markets. As they develop, the effect on US NG prices will obviously be to push them up commiserate with what the Europeans are willing to pay. Now you understand Biden's reluctance.

We have already seen that far more is possible in relation to this in the short run than people thought possible.
