@michaelianblack.bsky.social I’m already weeping (“concerned” through my don’t-know-if-I’ve-got-the-grit-for-this frame) about what’s happening in the right now.
Same, who knows? Don’t think it will be good, but we can do things to fight back. (i am trying to build a community of like-minded anti-fascists, so plz follow, i follow everyone back)
Not much. A percentage of MAGATS will get angry at trump because of eggs prices or whatever. That does NOT make them any smarter. They may just as well drift towards a more competent psychopath. The shit we're in didn't start with trump. It's been brewing since Nixon's Southern Strategy
They’re loud and they have a lot of power right now but we outnumber them. I have hope that the left, center and reasonable right (yes they do exist) will understand what we are facing and be able to rise above our petty differences to push back.
I think the good people of the USA have been very hesitant, confused, scared, angry & have all manners of emotions akin to death. This is where the fascist have been very good at - evoking all these emotions as a distraction while they're busy w/ their wanton destruction of everything in the country.
IT's the fascists' shock and awe tactic-& the decent people of America are certainly shocked & awe at the swiftness of the dismantling of agencies, departments, organisations, people's livelihood etc. Their cataclysmic machinations has not stopped yet & will not stop for as long as the people let them.
What happens after people power see off the fascist is the best thing to look forward to.Celebration, liberation, freedom then back to reality of family, work and getting everything broken by the fascist mended. What happens after is not the problem, it's what's happening now that needs sorting out.
Trump is getting ready, that’s why he’s firing generals. autocrats do this to tighten their grip on the military, for an autocrat can only keep their grip on power as long as they have the military protecting them.

It's gonna be ugly. No denying that. But I'm hopeful that there's something better on the other side. We will be able to rebuild better once we are over the MAGA mind virus.
It worked for Bush. His popularity was in the shitter until 9/11/2001
"In September 2000, PNAC again opined that a “Pearl Harbor event” would be in the best interest of American power. One year later, the neocons’ prayers were answered."
Hopefully we can make it out in one piece and rebuild. I have hopes that there will be a blue wave next year because of the bullshit happening now…. My concern is what will we look like in 2026.
Trump will deploy the military, local police, ICE etc. Whatever militarized components he can. Since November I kept saying we must think like the French Resistance. Sabotage and sneaky tricks.
Yes I'm concerned that they'll decommission the metaphorical guillotine too soon... it's fascist turtles all the way down, and they all have to go. Clean the pond of all neo-fascist scum, exemplarily.
I think there is a reason this admin has gifted law enforcement with the removal of the national misconduct database, and the military firing top brass and JAGs.
He has a rasping cough today. I'm just waiting for flu A or an 8th round of covid to do the Lord's work. I genuinely love their crowded, unmasked conventions.
That's exactly what the South Koreans did-risk everything for for their country, for the future generations. They didn't sit & wait for their politicians to talk forever & a day. They left their homes & work and took to the streets and ambushed their wannabe dictator & saw him scamper out of office.
People knowing that they could lose life&limbs,& doing it anyway, is the least to be expected from the citizens of the USA IF they want Elon, the Felon &the fascists of Project 2025 to be history, otherwise, dystopian reality is here to stay. IF South Koreans can do it,big, burly Americans can do, too.
That the frustrating bit for me - over a month on,&people angry, frustrated, scared etc have not gone over the initial boycotting this & that, venting frustration & disillusion at their government and stuck to fighting them behind a keyboard, for how long, we will find in the next viral topic.
Ppl have been protesting all over & shouting down their reps at town halls. These small acts are moving the needle. You have to remember, the US is literally 100x the size S Korea in land mass. Having a huge, centralized demonstration the way they did would take planning &travel for a lot of ppl
It gives me no pleasure to say this, Michael, but I think a lot of people in this country are way overdue needing to contemplate an old Latin saying that dates back to the Roman Republic:
The military will join The People! It’s their loved ones being harmed most by Trump’s policies. Plus, he just effed over veterans. So…we hit the streets. The military won’t fire on us. We stay in the streets. We can’t fail!

I'd much rather see protests motivate congress.
They have the power to fix this. It's also their job. Red states need to confront their reps and get them to respect their constituents.

A very bad, ominous reason.
I am willing to risk life and limb.
It's not fun alone
Let alone One For All.
I don't give a fuck anymore. I'll die on this hill. Happily. I'll go to prison on this hill, happily..
I'm not gonna bow down to Nazis. Quite literally over my dead body
