It just makes me sick when you consider how easy it would be for everyone to live a comfortable and happy life, free of poverty and violence. We have the resources, we have the means, we have the know-how.

We dropped child poverty by 40% in 2021 by just sending checks to families with kids without caring if they were employed or not. It would have cost $100B a year to continue and we currently spend 10x that on the full costs of child poverty. Not only can we solve poverty, we'd save resources.
That's what I find the hardest to accept. If there was nowhere near enough to go round, I'd still feel people were wrong to hoard it from others, but at least it would be understandable one a base, self-preservation level.
It's remarkable how a section of society have decided greed and cruelty are good, and now because they're so greedy and cruel the world gets worse and then to them that confirms their belief they should be greedy and cruel. Bizarre, twisted people.
I think we have the capabilities to solve many of our most pernicious problems. One of the reasons I believe in UBI is that it would allow a larger portion of the population to direct time to our problems. Freeing up the time, labor and imaginations would yield a lot of benefits.
But we don’t have the will. Selfishness is a quality of human nature that we are all susceptible to. Selflessness is a divine quality. We need to choose to dump our inherit nature and embrace a more divine nature. Difficult, but not impossible… but everyone has to do it. That’s the hard part.

Won't you please think of the billionaires before suggesting such silly things?
