I note you use the word philosophy but YouGov used ‘ideology’.

I find characterising environmentalism as an ideology quite odd. Fundamentally I think everyone would agree with the idea of protecting our environment but something happens in the politicising of it.

‘Ideology’ has a bad rap cos it’s associated with extreme movements.

But ultimately all of these worldviews are political. If ‘everyone’ agreed with environmentalism, we’d have sorted it already. Denying its political nature obscures the need to analyse power and opposition.

True. Clearly it doesn't get us very far to pretend there is consensus or that there aren't structural and systemic blockers in place. Am a believer in the Activist's Argument so maybe it is just my gut reaction to the bad rap of the terminology.
