The only change that I have seen with Chrome and Gemini is that I now get a Gemini summary at the top of my search results if I have a query rather than say if I am googling a business name or a business near me. Personally I hate AI art due the theft etc… Gemini as a research tool A+
The answer to the moldy avacado gunk question is to use the only usable replacement to chrome that isn't just chrome with a different skin on top - Firefox (:
It's because they have so little exposure to people outside their corporate cult-ure. They start with a bunch of people who idolize tech, who aren't known for empathy, then reinforce that by hiring "diverse kinds of people"... who share their values. Google HR infamously screens employees for it.
From my experience, they're desperate to wring more money out of their businesses at ANY cost and will gladly throw their weight behind anything that sounds both slightly plausible and intrinsically horrible
They're trying so hard to eliminate as much human critical thought as possible. The way AI programs are constantly stepping on our digital heels to "help" us with the most basic sh drives me up a f'ing wall.
It's so annoying. Most tech products do it. Been testing MS Edge for a while and with every update: "MS Edge — Your AI browser".
Bought a Samsung Tab S9 Ultra recently. The product image they use for advertising has a huge "AI✨" logo on its screen. Like, stfu, it's not the flex you think it is.

Which just proves it a selling point to nobody.

I had Google Workspace pushing Gemini on me to “help write emails” as if that was ever the challenging part of my job
