It's concerning how much more my sons know about gambling than me ... we are not a gambling household, and I am unsure of whether they are picking it up from direct advertising or ambiently within their cohorts, but it proves to me that gambling advertising has become much, much too pervasive ...

I hate that i can't escape the torrent of gambling and crypto adverts.

How is it that we live in a country that prioritises fast tracking dubious online age verification that could cost countless millions or more.

But we can't legislate against gambling ads, which most agree is harmful.

Its so often the case that we can't move on things we all agree on, but when something as contentious as restricting access to online services and requiring identification verification to access those services, which arguably affects every Australian goes through without any time to ruminate.

So gambling ads bad. Porn okay though? A study in the UK showed 80% of PRIMARY school kids have seen porn and shared it. Maybe a outright smart phone ban should be the solution. Give them phones, sure. Let them call and receive texts. But not to the internet itself.

I’ve assumed and may have read somewhere that he’s good mates with someone in gambling and doesn’t want to disadvantage them (as opposed to any of us in the community who’d be very happy with no gambling ads)
