NYT reported that he was found in possession of a ghost gun of the same caliber that killed the CEO, along with a silencer and the NJ ID that was used at the NY hostel. That's pretty strong evidence, IMHO.

The news keeps calling this a political killing but the thing that’s bothering me is the lack of connection to politics in the way that the attempted Trump assassination was political. This was a targeted attack to spark socioeconomic change. Calling it a political attack is part of the smokescreen.
