It's actually a consistent theme in Star Wars. *Everone* in the chain ultimately is disposable and serves Palpatine. Dooku is a threat, but gets got by Anakin in ROTS. Krennic is a menace in Andor, but gets nuked in Rogue One. Vander is terror incarnate in Rogue One, & set up to die in ROTJ.

The best part of Andor is that it gives real weight and real tension to the Empire. They truly look and feel like an oppressive fascist boot.
