Nice story about a great camp near Duluth founded for kids with HIV is for sale. Because there aren't enough kids who need it anymore.

This story is lovely.
This camp had adjusted to low HIV rates by serving majority LGBTQ and housing insecure kids. It’s closing bc of $$. It was still doing life saving work.
Unfortunately we are in the midst of an HIV outbreak in MN, access to healthcare is still needed to save lives. The end of this camp, though, is good news indeed.
My limited understanding is Easterseals was formed to help kids with polio, and when vaccines in the U.S. made that mission increasingly moot they expanded their mission because they had a useful structure to help other kids.
Worth noting this story seems to be suggesting the camp for children with HIV and AIDS remained open only this long because it started taking in many LGBTQ youth -- so there was already some repurposing here.
