A fundamental problem is the Democrats are utterly committed to the fallacy that public opinion polls are politics. This has destroyed their ability to actually do politics. 1/

The Democratic Party has no idea how angry its base is. Lead, right now, or get out of the way.

Waiting 18 months feels cowardly & opportunistic. Do something.
I’d argue that Dems have had a long-standing structural handicap, because reactionaries by definition mobilize around grievance & resentment, negative forms of anger that are easy to organize & communicate on.
That’s a deadly mismatch, especially in the modern info environment of gate-keeper-free social media & viral communication.
We have a real chance to even the communications playing field at a meta level.
These mofo’s are inviting vilification.
So let’s vilify!
They are VERY EFFECTIVELY ACCOMPLISHING THEIR DESIRED POLITICS.
Because Republicans are historically what get the shit they want done, and they have to pretend to oppose them, to provide the steam release valve, in-between the torture sessions.
Republicans: “We did nothing wrong, the election was stolen, we should double down on every divisive issue again in 2024”
*Trump wins by 1.5% in 2024*
Democrats: “We did everything wrong, we are never going to win another election unless we change everything”
The party needs follow the leads of AOC, Crockett, and the others in that section of the party
Few Democrats in any level of leadership think polls are important. One of many tools maybe.
Which state?
Im struggling with leftie-center protesters who protest stuff we need actually… (not enough psych beds kinda problems… and massive gaps in special education)
But in the bluest part of the place… I mostly just perceive our disagreements as worse than they likely are. My uncle was a democratic politician. Its weird.
It’s a form of politics where the public is measured and monitored, but political action and decision-making happens between legislators and donors.
He had no answer when I asked him how we make said governor less popular.

Yes Minister was a documentary.
8 points down in a month or so is not “wherever the leader directs it”
GOP tends to have a unifying message. When we see the same from the Dems, we'll know they're at least trying to be serious.
1) Democrats do better, or
2) Republican rule
With such a lack of imagination on display, there's a decent chance Americans don't deserve their democracy
I don’t know how to explain to you that you’re a collaborator.
They stopped *leading*. They stopped trying to sell what they actually believed in.
People gravitate to the story not the polls and very few on the left are doing this currently.
Guess who has a more effective approach to politics and the exercise of power!
Their fallacy is *ignoring* polls in favor of election results from months ago.
