Per Paul today on the livestream even mute lists will be public. (The “mute-lists” will be different than your individual list of muted accounts). And I think the blocklist is public too

Subscribing to a mute list is private. Subscription to a blocklist won’t be, due to architectural issues.

There isn’t any reason a third party couldn’t build a blocklist aggregator.

I.e. sign into site with Bluesky creds, allow site sync your blocklist.

There was a lot of concern over blocks being public initially.
