Facebook sucks in general, but it doesn’t show me this particular garbage. I don’t know how the algorithm decides who sees what. Mine is mostly clips of old sitcoms (why? but it is).
As another climate coffin nail.
2. I think it’s important to know what other people are consuming
For me, I was unaware of the enormity of the dangerous disinfo on FB. Now I have a little context when I talk to others who spout these things as fact.
Balko doesn’t traffic in MAGA rage tweets. He is quite thoughtful.
"It's just me and yooooou
My Methalyne Bluuuuue"
Almost all of my interactions are with people who get their "news" either first or second or third hand from FB.
Whatever the source they treat it as fact.
I left the platform so I am not sure how bad it's gotten.
WEIRD.
This trash is far worse than I would have expected, and confirms that I made a good choice back then.
There's hypocrisy, and then there's just being completely blind to reality.
Post pug and kitty pics on the rescue pages.
Check the local retro game store for new items.
Post on friend's page about Utah's "Big Gay Trains" crashing into someone/thing else. He says it will escalate if they make his marriage to his hubby illegal.
Fox says this stuff too.
They lie outright.
But what do you do about it though?
Seriously. People put it out there (propaganda) people believe it. Police every post?
WHO determines what is & isnt misinfo?
I dont use Facebook. I still have it, but don't use.
That last one made me laugh because the vaccinated are more likely to survive COVID and die from something else later in life.
/sarcasm , of course
