From a selfish point of view, I’m hoping this helps generate a bigger sports presence on Bluesky. Truly the only element missing for me. Still love it here though, it’s far and away the best social media app. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
App count is more of a detraction for the majority of folks.
As the federated stats are really noisy, we’ll have to wait a few days at least before knowing if it’s experiencing as significant an increase in use compared to Threads and Bluesky: https://mastodon-analytics.com
A lot of people are commenting that X isn't on the list at all, but that's because they're under "News" not "Social Networking." But yes, Bluesky is downloaded more than X right now. By a lot. 6th overall. X is 41st.
That's true, especially given the official Mastodon app has plenty of room for improvement.
That being said, after the Brazil X/Twitter ban, a huge number of Portuguese language Alessia Cara stan accounts popped up on BSky, almost none on the elephant app.
I manually went through my Twitter list and found many more on BSky than Threads, so im here now. I’m missing a lot of election, Ukraine and sports Twitter though.

Also very interesting to note that Mastodon doesn't make the list.
Looks like Threads or BlueSky are the go-to apps now for people jumping ship from Twitter.
For that matter, the mobile website version of Mastodon is better than the official app.
