Not just unusual. It’s unprecedented. It’s a seismic reordering of American government and an actual instance of the “weaponization” of the DOJ that the Republicans were heretofore so fond of complaining about (when it wasn’t happening).

The thing too is--if the democrats actually went hard at Trump--it's because we watched him break the law. It wasn't some show trial stuff (which Republicans also insisted within months after January 6th that is was!). It was imperative to hold government officials to account. And they failed.
