Massachusetts raises its hand! We have great universities, we vote blue, great economy, we'd be an asset.
(We'd have to annex a land bridge, maybe up the NH/VT border, build a highway to connect...but I do not recommend annexing the rest of NH...it's one of the weird states.)
Still obsessed with a rock formation that they spent decades using wire and metal trying to fight erosion, only for it to fall anyway. A perfect metaphor for the state...
Born in NH, passed by saw it a hundred times, and I laughed SO HARD when the Old Man on the Mountain fell. π€ͺ
As a Canadian, I support this. One of the most repellant moves of Manitoba's prev Con gov was to try anti-trans "parents' rights" garbage as a last-ditch effort to win an election. This was counterprotested, and we now have a leftist gov with a non-binary health minister. LBGTQ+ community welcome.π³οΈβπ
Hi! Canada already has really good policies for dealing with asylum claims from the queer community; coming from the US, you'd need to overcome a certain assumption that it is more or less "safe" and had no option of safety within the US.
Offer not applicable if the Conservatives win the next federal election. Offer not applicable if immigrating to Ontario, Alberta, Saskatchewan or Nova Scotia.
Canada better take a good long look at whatβs happening here. Musk rigged the election, every single senator on both sides of the isle are spineless, every right our men and women fought for are systematically being taken from us. Donβt let trump or muskrat, and his hackers anywhere near Canada!
The recent polls show the Liberal government could even win a majority in the next federal election with Mark Carney as PM.
And Ontario is not as bad as the US or Alberta (unlike Danielle Smith, Ford actually defends Canada).
Ford is awful. He's the one responsible for lack of housing. Lack of healthcare and starving our Universities. There is more to serving Ontario than a hat and tough talk. And as far as defending Canada - he got rolled by Don jr. into paying 85k per month to a consultant company.
Oh yeah. Heβs better than Danielle Smith who is borderline treasonous but thatβs no compliment.
But we have provincial elections this month so we must vote for whoever is most likely to beat Ford and actually fix healthcare!
One thing I like about living in Canada is that we have Canada's nicest b*tch (not butch), Anne Murray. Don't mess with Canada's nicest b*tch! She'll send the Snowbirds after you!
ππππππ my husband and I are retired
In our 70βs. We have a trip to Nova Scotia planned for the spring. Excited as heck. We have been out to western Canada it is lovely! But I love the ocean. Cannot wait for this
We, Canadians, have federal min. wage $17.30/hour ($7.25 in the US); accessible universities; maternity/paternity leave policies, $10/day childcare, dentist care for people 65+&children, universal healthcare, paid hours on election days, etc.
Americans have none of this.
Canada is great: defend it.
If I could have a 3 acre property with a 1200sq ft home in Canada like we have here in Indiana. And afforable...We only paid 91,500 for our house, everything I've seen with land is super super $$$$ in Canada.
We live in one of the poorest counties in Indiana sadly. We moved here because we could make the hubs military retirement/va disability stretch farther here.
Yes, I understand. But like all countries, Canada mainly accepts immigrants who can contribute to the Canadian economy. If you're still young and able to work, that's a definite plus. That said, it's an honest opinion. I don't work for Immigration and citizenship.
This depends on the province in which you are looking for a property. You can find beautiful country properties in Quebec and New Brunswick.
Don't forget that the U.S. dollar is worth about 30% more than the Canadian dollar.
Thanks for the suggestions, looked into some properties in new Brunswick, and that seems more our alley! We are definitely scared in this US household with everything happening in DC right now!
Worth what, where? Same places where eggs are $15/dz? I say the coastal blue states just sign up with Canada and people who don't agree can move to the red states and replace migrant workers on farms.
It's down here that they're whining about the price of eggs. I live in the big city where eggs are $8/dz (Extra-large and jumbo eggs are cheaper because standard recipes are calibrated to large eggs.)
I have no sympathyβthey got what they voted for.
You know federal minimum wage is only for federal employees, right?
I'm happy to see the momentum for unity these days, but daaayum people still have no clue what provincial mandates actually are, and that scares me. Traitors took advantage of that here once, don't think it won't happen again
Iβm feeling really pessimistic about keeping all of this in Ontario if Ford wins. I canβt imagine why anyone would want to live like the US and Iβm from there!
I love it here! But this is all at risk. Many Canadians are complacent and there is a risk that the PC's will win the election. Musk just 'endorsed' Pollievre, and Pollievre responded that it would be great to have more Tesla plants here. The conservatives can easily be bought.
We have to talk to everyone we know about Mark Carney being liked by Harper. We have talking points for the complacent and complicit. We can do this. We need a banker (never thought Iβd say that)
In New Zealand's last election a right wing coalition got in. They proceeded to smash everything the previous Labour government put in place. Thousands of government workers lost their jobs and so many companies lost income because of the cuts. People are realising what vandals they're are.
So eventually, public opinion sees them for what they are, ruthless elitists, pandering to their rich mates, but bloody hell, the damage they do in the meantime! Australia is benefiting from a massive exodus of skilled workers.
Whoah, letβs not get carried away here. You canβt bring guns or donate them to our military. You also must pledge to fight for Canada if called upon.
If things in the US keep going the way they are re:LGTBQ, I foresee it becoming easier to get Americans in. We already fast track members of that community from countries that are hostile to it (KSA, Nigeria, Iran etc)
Sadly, some folk will have to get hurt/killed before we change our policy
California, we have a perfect opportunity to have healthcare for all. Gun reform . Body autonomy! California please #JoinCanadaNow #11thProvinceCascadia
Iβm in a blue state but red city/ county ( Co Springs, CO). But in Denver ( blue state/ county/ city) clinic for gender affirming care for kids are CLOSING end of Feb bc they all receive fed funds ( and I suspect Medicaid - Govt Grant). Nothing this blue state can do ππ€¦ββοΈ
And welcome to any & all common sense Americans who make the move. Being Canadian is a fantastic feeling of pride, friendship and standing on the world stage.
I'm in northeast Iowa... Take me please π my area isn't terrible but the rest of the state sucks π I promise I'll even change my pronunciation of sorry, bag, etc. π€
I'm in Texas and would love to move to British Columbia but I hear it's a lot more expensive than Texas. I've looked at the website. You guys need to lower your standards. Not all of us are 30 with a PHD.
Yes please. It makes sense as the blue states thinking is more aligned with Canada then the red states. Bonuses, not only would it wound Donnyβs ego, but take away the stateβs that pay in more then they take and also make America smaller giving the dictator less power and less money to steal.
All of you saying you want Canada to rescue you, Iβm afraid youβre going to need to organize and deal with your mess first. Canada needs you to take action to stop your house burning down.
Umm, no thanks. I love Canada just the way it is. We Canadians want no part of that shitshow.
I say, respectfully, to our American friends, you all need to stay at home and fix your own country's problems. Please don't come crying to us π¨π¦

first thing that needs taking care of is Elon Musk. that villainous rat bastard is interfering in countries all over the world, including Canada. i loathe Musk with a fucking passion.
omg if only. That Cape Breton if Trump Wins website from 2015 is no longer functional. Iβve visited 5 Canadian provinces and never had less than a great time, even in Quebec.
Funny thing as a kid I lived in Alberta for a bit. One of my sisters was born there and now residing there to escape this hellhole. Unfortunately I have a job with a pension Iβm depending on so kinda stuck even if it is possible at this time.
I looked into British Columbia. they dont want retired expats for more than 6 months per yr.
most EU countries are receptive but bureaucracy requires patience. Spain is really popular
This is great, but itβs not true for anyone whoβs wondering. Justin Trudeau told us on November 6, 2024 that immigrants from
The USA would no longer be welcome for, at a minimum, the next three years.
My family is originally from
Canada and I canβt get in - so if anyone wants to clarify, please do
Is this actually true? My partner is a scientist who is probably screwed due to cuts and Iβm an infosec professional. I looked into Canadian immigration but didnβt see a clear path. Has that changed?
If Canada gets on the ball they could build new cities and fill them with American refugees.
With the skills and talent you and your partner seem to have, I would be surprised if you could not get a stronghold into Canada.
I wish you the very best. π
Sorry I do not have experience with the immigration system, but many people from other countries have told me that it is easier to come here than the US.
I was a kid in kindergarten. The local paper asked for the smallest kid in school to point out the Turks and Caicos on a globe. I was actually in the paper :) That was more than 55 years ago. Canada is so dumb sometimes.
Oh Canada! I love this ad! LOL Unfortunately, female citizens of the USA do not yet qualify for asylum in your country. As soon as we do, I'll be making my way to the border.
Thanks Ginja. I don't know how I can do that at my age, but I just started looking up registered nurse programs in my area. Sounds like a great idea. thank you.
Not sure what the equivalent is in the USA to an LPN (licensed practical nurse) which in Canada is a 2yr program (LVN maybe for you guys?) but a lot of the foreign nurses at my hospital come with that & then once here they can work on getting their RN license.
Do you accept hostages from those weirder states? Honestly, if my feet werenβt always cold even living in Florida Iβd head for Canada right now. You guys sound great in every way. Honeymoon with my first in Presque Isle, Maine his hometown in winter.Feet still cold after 60 years!
Canadian immigration and refugee services are not expanding their #s to Americans beyond Healthcare workers. Asylum claims are still going to be treated with the safe third country principles. An attitude of βyou made your bed, lie in itβ appears dominant. Donβt confuse them.
Heβs a comedian and the content is obviously outlandish. Brittlestar does comedy around political issues. I watched it a few more times and donβt think the information is misinformation. The intent isnβt there.

border or port - have to be outside USA, and have to eventually show that a well founded fear of persecution for 1/5 reasons keeps you outside USA. Takes about 3 years, up to now USA has pretty low success rate except for gender-based. But for that 3 years claimants are safe in Canada.
I needed that this morning!! Hope you make will some exceptions ( native Floridian) I promise I only have one florida man in my family and heβs distantly related π€·π»ββοΈπ€£π€£π€£π€£π€£
It's much harder to get Canada to take us than we'd hope. My wife is a nurse and I'm disabled(thanks covid). We can't afford to live there on what she'd be paid to work in Canada. We'd also need significant amount of money in the bank and we don't have that.
I donβt know if they still do it, but they used to fast track health workers and MDs if they committed to work in the the far north for a few years. My cousin was a government worker in Yellowknife and she loved it up there.
We have considered it since my wife has ICU experience. With my complex chronic illnesses we're not sure I'd be able to get the care I need. She's currently learning Swedish and She's getting better at German. Both countries are leading the way w/research on my illnesses.
It might be the only good thing about US for profit system. And I'm lucky enough that as of right now we're able to afford my care and live in a good area for it. Not a cure like what Europe is testing, but still better than nothing.
This American would love to join Canada! Please annex New York State and New England (for starters). Would be Lit! π¨π¦π¨π¦π¨π¦πππ
Donβt believe him . Iβve been years ago . Itβs minus 50 and you have to wear a bell or big furry things eat you . Come to the UK . Weβve just bought the Atlantic π The Royal Fleet Auxiliary are currently installing toll booths so donβt hang about .
Yeah but your island is full of English people. Send them to America, we can deal with the Welsh, the Scots and the Irish but no one wants the English.
I'm sorry, but I'm concerned you think wearing bells will prevent you being eaten by big furry things. The bells are so we know *which* big furry things have been eating bell wearers. I hope this helps clear up any confusion!

And donors can't buy off politicians by giving millions, as is the practice in the United States.
