Today I saw a doctor put a mask on to see us… no asking. He saw a mask, he wore a mask.
Doesn’t sound like much, but it still meant a lot.

(Joke, sort of.)
I see you are in AUS, so we're cousins ;)
I work in a small doctors office, my doctor is an internist, with a subspecialty in geriatrics.
We still mask, and require all our patients mask. I don’t have any patients complain.
I know it’s hard, but people are still getting sick from Covid, people are still dying.
Sigh.
No more questions.
I've thought of discussing N95s and better masks, but I don't want to tick him off. I'm lucky to have a GP.
Did you ask him if his surgeon should also forgo the mask?
He is no longer my mother‘s orthopedic surgeon. We continue to mask in public.
Last week her new primary care saw our masks and immediately masked up. 👍🏻
But common courtesy and common sense.
If someone had to sneeze, would you prefer they sneeze on you or away from you? Exactly. Same principle. Not "tyranny."
I wore a mask and the doc asked me if I wanted him to mask. I told him not to bother. At the end of the appointment he went to shake my hand
I told him
DON'T TOUCH ME
Wrong for so many reasons.
Viruses are not free floating in the air they are in aerosolized droplets of water, mucus, etc…
Decades of infectious disease research UNANIMOUSLY concludes that masks reduce infection, both of the wearer and others.
Just in case you haven't caught up.
Surgical masks do nothing to prevent the spread of viruses. It literally says it on the box.
The majority of people use surgical masks to protect against and combat COVID.
Whataboutism at its finest.
Kind of crazy to be having an argument over masking up in 2025 I think.
Five yrs with no Covid, common colds or flu bugs.
Small inconvenience, big rewards!
It's not hard 🙄
Weird how that's such a mountain to climb for so many.

Well at least he was awake to the risk.
much appreciated.

We switched to both of these dr last year and while masking wasn't the top reason for the change, last week showed me again that we made the right choice
Maybe they feel secure with the vaccinations they have received.
Masks are still required at my hospital, so IDK.
I am so sad my GP stopped masking. And does not put one on when seeing me, even though my records show my history with Covid.
