You can (for now anyway) interact with a computer via command prompts and programming, they have real hardware and don’t rely on flash memory, tablets have legit contributed to growing tech illiteracy by separating the end user from that for the sake of “convenience”
Yes! So many new college engineering grads don’t have any idea how to interact with or configure an OS. Windows, Linux, doesn’t matter. Simple shit about how they work are completely foreign to them. I learned so much just fucking around the Windows Control panel trying to make shit work
You also need to give them 5-8 games, some of which can be installed in Windows (DirectX drivers vary, good luck) and some of which have to be run directly in DOS.
I have no evidence to support my claim but I believe having to go to a demarcated shared space in the house to access the Internet minimizes rot in developing minds.
