I'm not going to do this properly because I'm so far removed from modern gaming, but my favorite character generation from any RPG was from the game Darklands from Microprose. Select gender and station of birth, then step them through various medieval career steps until you feel they are "ready."

I fear this will happen again with Sonic Racing CrossWorlds; it'll probably be the least played of that, a rumored Mario Kart 9 (which may not launch with the Switch 2, but still seems likely), and some other kart racer coming out next year (why did I say "this" instead of "next"?!)

I was also thinking of ISO aRPGs, but then there's also Titan quest, grim dawn etc, that are more recent and much nicer. I'm happy to report that you can play Diablo 2 in a grim dawn mod and it's reasonable to suggest that it's a more modern experience that improves on the original
