A five year process of expansion is probably sensible though. Long term plans that are actually funded are a good way to govern, it’s just a shame we’re starting from way behind.
Not because they want to, in terms of policy, but because of poor polling results. We could see this coming from the budget wins they claimed in their first year in office. Saved then, spend now.
Isn’t that how elections are meant to work? You tell people what you’re going to do and they vote for the policies they prefer. If elected you carry out your policy platform, and critically no unannounced policy.
Because it gives more time for Dutton to turn every positive into a negative and the captured MSM to take up the chant. If we had a better MSM we would have a better Labor party, better government and a better country. But we can’t have nice things, apparently.
ALP reticence to implement progressive policy reforms is due to fear of the ‘LNP-MSM complex’ backlash. The large number of signatories to the Rudd petition for a Royal commission into Murdoch provided an ideal opportunity to tackle MSM head on. ALP chose not to their own detriment.
One of the more cynical tactics in our political history. Having Rudd do it made it arms length enough to walk away from, yet it appeared to be a party thing at the time.
I reckon it’s time for Labor to stop worrying about the media and use their clout to sell their policies. Andrews showed how to do it, they have the blueprint. Now they just require courage and hard work, and a better social media team.
It's so hard to cut through the right wing media. A shame the ABC is now right wing too. I have seen so many Dutton adds. Gina is shelling out the dosh.
I have arthritis in my hip that is so bad I can't walk about. Still waiting for an initial appt. I have cataracts so bad I'm not allowed to drive. No sign of surgery. Therefore I'm home bound and my life is getting smaller and smaller with no hope.
I have a Labor state govt.
Flinders eye clinic might offer some help? It’s on Medicare, it’s just getting into a bulk billing clinic. They might bump you up the list if they assess you and see your vision is too limited to be safe.
If they could do this why not do it before? Or now? Gotta dangle Carrots before the election. This could be life changing for people but they hold out on help for struggling people just for votes. Disgusting pigs.
Dutton immediately said he’d do it too. Not bc he actually believes in it but bc he doesn’t want it to become an election issue like last time. He’s 💯 fake.
Oh it's promises time again, where they dangle great things they should have done while in power, but you need to re-elect them first and they might do it next time.
They're adopting Scummo's MO of announcing stuff which will happen after two election cycles, though.
They could dig into their surplus and say it will happen now and put the cat among the pigeons.

Quite drab and 'lack lustre' leading up to calling a federal election..
Followed by big bucks & 'stimulus packages' to help get them re-elected.
It's a fine line between pleasure & pain..
A very predictable line though 🦋
you may be howling as
Georgia residents were

in 1864.
Being how long before the election will be held?
"Work"?
Could you please clarify this for me?
A wake ?
😀😖
I have a Labor state govt.
Which state are you in? I may have a cataract solution if you’re in Victoria. It’s a bulk billed procedure so should be easy enough to get done.
Worth checking if Flinders can get you in anyway.
I’ve been through some eye stuff, I’ve found being a pushy bastard helps. Not always, but it’s always worth a crack.
‘Fool me once…’
People should be seeing the benefits now, the governments needs to remind them how those benefits happened.
Why do all their 'announcements' have such long lead-times?
They could dig into their surplus and say it will happen now and put the cat among the pigeons.
