What would be even more useful for those of us still using Twitter as our default social media platform is a little tool that publishes any tweet we post straight to our Bluesky account too, thus helping us to grow our account on here without having to copy and paste those tweets between accounts.
I think what would be also quite productive is often mentioning on the Bad Site that you are here and recommend it. Unfortunately if people are stuck where they have content en "everything happens" won't ever move...
Yes I think you're right, but I am seeing more and more of my followers recommending people follow them on Bluesky too. I have a link to my Bluesky account in my Twitter bio but it will still take time to grow my account on this platform just because it's still new, but it's off to a great start.
I'd say that only putting link in your bio won't be enough. More active encouragement would be required or otherwise first enthusiasm will fizzle out :(
There is @buffer.com but it's an external service...
unfortunately this is a stark contrast between super open bluesky that let's you create awesome tools ans Twitter with limited API and even viewing permissions so you can't even see the tread / comments without an account...
I've never used Mastodon. I created a Threads account and then never used it, but I really like Bluesky and people are desperate for an alternative to Twitter, which feels increasingly toxic and unfriendly.
I have an account, but don't use it much.
My point wasn't to try to get you to use it, but that the technology is there.
It shouldn't be difficult for those who know to adapt it for here.
Thanks for linking this, George. A very useful tool indeed. Although the resulting post's link doesn't display elsewhere like an original Bluesky one, it a sinch to copy & paste the resulting text.
Can I ask that you consider an opt-out mechanism, even if it's only an account to block?
Many writers who write long threads and also format them for their own websites would prefer if people visited their sites rather than a third-party site.
Yes, I want to respect authors’ intent. I’m still thinking of the best solution. I think bluesky itself uses some sort of label to only allow signed in users to view posts. I could potentially scan for that label.

Would love to see it fetch link previews though, so they match the thread and add context. As it is, it just shows the textual link.
Image ALT text isn't included either.
Other than that fairly neat

Would that mean changing the "Who can interact" settings for every post? Or is it too early in the process to ask?
