I’m almost finished with Subnautica. What an absolute joy this game has been. I’ve wept so much during the last couple of hours, at each new revelation. It’s such a rare and wonderful thing to play a video game where the end-goal is to build, rather than destroy; to heal, rather than to kill.

It hit a note of existentialism so deep in my brain and emotions. I cried so bad when it was over that I had to wake up my fiance for support.
Can't wait to show what we're working on with Subnautica 2 in 2025! 😶🌫️
Also, I started this on Switch, but then restarted on the PS5 because it absolutely deserved to be seen on a big screen.
Somehow managing to be scarier than a horror game, more of a feeling of surviving than a survival game, and more about building than a construction game all at the same time
And just so polished too, bugs and cracks in the seams are so few and far between
The Below Zero sequel game... is kind of a parallel story to the Subnautica: still good, though hard to improve on the first one. There is a full Subnautica 2 in the works for 2025. Fingers crossed they do something good with it...
In the meanwhile I found a gem called Abzu (from Giant Squid games, on pc & consoles). If you like that kind of underwater exploration/relaxation, you might enjoy Abzu too.
