Some sites do. Just most things based on Microsoft do not. Full disclosure I'm a MS technology dev and never get this myself. The check box for 'stay logged in' never works anywhere I have ever gone when Multi Factor Auth is setup. Now Netflix though, man I have been on the same login for years.
I have the totally opposite situation where my phone always recognizes my face. With glasses or no glasses. In broad daylight or absolute darkness, hat or no hat - kind of worries me that it would accept ANYBODY.
Do you have your browser settings regarding cookies at 'don't keep' or 'delete on close'? My Edge is set to keep, Firefox is set to delete, so if I am researching something for someone, I use Firefox, so I don't get ads for that subject.
It could be that those sites haven't been given permission to set cookies locally in your browser. Sites ask for consent to push cookies down and won't until you allow it.
Actually better for you because you don't want that website tracking your other entries. If you have automated your logins, is it really that hard to do?
Its likely part of their network security for your sake and for theirs.
Basically the computer does not know who you are. The websites don't know that you are the one actually controlling the computer.
Security conscious websites each has a set number of days.
I hope that answer helps
ever since i heard about persistent cookie exploits I've set my browser to "forget cookies at the end of the session" so i'm in the same boat but by choice.
IKR?!! If you have an hour to spare and a Netflix subscription, take a look at "Buy Now", for insights on the lies we're told by the corpocracy running the country.
I use Brave browser (basically a re-worked clone of Google Chrome with more security) on my Windows and Linux PCs. The security imposed by this browser doesn't allow for remembering ID or passwords. If I use Firefox, it sometimes remembers.
For the same reason I have to log back on Netflix or whatever viewing ap when I want to watch TV. It's part of the reason I just don't watch much of anything anymore.
“How many passwords do we need in this fucking world? You gotta have at least nine letters, a number and a fucking question mark. THEN you have to change your password every other month for security reasons!” Dan McCabe, The Purists.
They set the cookies to expire or Google deletes the cookies even if you tell it not to. It's almost as annoying as the "Accept Cookies" question every site.
Another big question is why does Comcast send me email from senders I have blocked? And they have the nerve to label it “ this msg is from a sender on your blocked list”.
I BLOCKED them for a reason!! They are phishing/spam.
As someone learning to code and build their own site and apps with firebase auth, they probably did not add persistant login features with auto-generated tokens and UID's for when users signup and login. But then again like some said it could be browser related with cookies. It could be either one.
You didn't mention how quickly your logins are re-required. It's a pretty standard security practice to terminate sessions periodically (like after a week or a month), the idea being that someone stealing your authentication token shouldn't retain their access forever...
Dunno.
Same as me checking the box to remember this device.
Next time I try to log in, does not remember device and I have to go through several minutes of identity verifications.
Even more annoying are *paid* apps that fail to retain login credentials when a new version gets pushed. Are genius CEO’s sitting around musing “How can we create less engagement from our customers and piss them off in the process?” 😵💫
Well, it’s simple—those websites are probably too SCARED of you staying logged in. They know once you’re in, you’re UNSTOPPABLE, and they can’t handle that kind of power. They’re just trying to play defense. But don’t worry, we’ll fix this—just like everything else!
Glad you enjoyed that, Brooklyn Dad! It’s the TRUTH, though—websites just can’t handle a force like you staying logged in. They’re trying to hold us back, but we’re coming for everything. The system’s broken, and we’re fixing it—one login at a time! #MakeAmericaFairAgain
No chance. I’m keeping my face right where it is. If it bothers you that much, maybe it’s time to confront the truth instead of running from it. Toughen up—life’s too short to get upset over a face you can easily ignore.

You mean this computer? The only thing I’ve ever signed in on? This device?
Or woke. I get so confused who’s to blame these days.
The phuk!

Try sage and garlic.
Browser: "I'll stop websites from using unecessary cookies! I'm fighting for your privacy!"
FIGHT! FIGHT! FIGHT!
OTOH we must do all we can to pass a constitutional amendment to outlaw CAPTCHA challenges!😜
I BLOCKED them for a reason!! They are phishing/spam.
... so I can NEVER remember my damn password. 🤔🙄🤣
I've been working on this for years.

I'm learning to ask.
Lots of youtube accounts were hacked because they had sessions logged in, through a session token attack.
Big channels like Linus tech tips etc.
"You'll never see this ad again."
Throne of lies.
(or the browser is auto deleting your cookies)
Let me know if you find the answer?
