Today marks four years since the consultation on a #PavementParking ban in England - and we're still waiting for action. Disabled campaigner and journalist Katie Pennick says:
"In this photo you can see what happens when parking places are put on the pavement. My wheelchair does not fit!"

The bis should also not be left on the pavement...by householders or council workers
In most of England though, there's literally no recourse.
In Liverpool, you run no risk of sanction for these things, but don't over-run on a meter!
I regularly get near missed by a few centimetres here in North Devon when I’m forced into the road on my mobility scooter by cars blocking the side walk - the police and council(s) do nothing about it - it will take deaths before anything changes!
We’ve been asking for the London wide pavement ban to be enforced here for decades.

we need a total ban on through traffic in the proposed Dartmouth Park LTN.
Clearly we need time to let it 'bed in' 🙃
Also, notice the school children forced to walk in the road.
#pavementparking was banned across London in 1974, except when a council decides cars have priority over people.
We hope this changes going forwards.
Ultimately, this is a symptom of councils subsidising driving.
don’t want to upset the motorists? ( subject to consultation) #DartmouthParkLTN
“When you welcome cars, the best you can do is accommodate everyone”
That’s what this is. It’s accommodating everyone else so we can welcome cars. We have to stop welcoming cars and merely accommodate them.
