Yea premier league strikers arenβt falling for thatβ¦
Was very impressed with Austin live by the way today
Watched him closely from my seat in south stand of youβd like any commentary for future context? Throwing Dan burn into his own goal before catching a set piece was a personal highlight
This player seems like a departure from our previous recruiting in some ways. Do you think that's down to the new management structure, Ange's influence ... both?
Interesting! I just mean that this is clearly a player whose skills would fit into Ange's approach -- he's part of a departure from our previous playing styles.
Ornstein (who appears to have been briefed by the club) says the signing is a collaboration between Lange, Mackenzie, Levy and Ange, so it would indeed indicate this is very much a signing of the new recruitment setup.
In all seriousness though, signing a GK like this clearly means that the club sees long term success in and is comitted to play-out-from-the-back philosophy. Could also mean that board sticks with Ange for forseeable future?

Ornstein, having apparently been briefed by the the club, is suggesting he's been brought forward with the original intention being to sign him in summer.
