Great ranking from a British magazine for British readers, but certainly not a representative list of the 100 best punk rock songs

Left column, nbr 16
without him this list would be empty
Some of the βoiβ bands and vice squad shouldnβt be on there either.
I loved Crass but βNagasaki Nightmareβ in the top 100?
Because thereβs some influential UK punk bands missing like Buzzcocks, GenX, X-Ray Spex, Eater, Chelsea, Alternative TV, Wire. Nothing from The Jam either!
Road to Ruin was already three years old, and that's probably one of the best punk albums ever made!
What a bonkers list.
"went to No 2 in the Independent chart, and has over the last 25 years sold over 1 million copies worldwide."
I'll also note that I remember seeing DK on some British Punk compilations like "Punk And Disorderly" and "Wargasm".
Of course nobody can know what songs will be written in the future.
I do really like that Killing Joke managed to make it on here!
A key definitive punk music ethos
East Bay Ray's guitar style, in reality, didn't really fit this concept (he often added a hint of melody), though the drummer and Biafra's style was certainly edgy.
My most favorite live shows; Gang of Four & Bauhaus.
No Buzzcocks, no X-Ray Spex π

GBH
Hard bloody work!
However, definitely agree the NME seemed far more accepting of Punk, no wonder ..... they had Nick Kent π
