To be fair, this is pretty standard for most protests. I've been on several for different reasons (larger than 25k) that haven't made the mainstream press or headlines unless there is something criminal happening. Often if they are in the press at all, it's for a few hours and online only.

We are right to be angry. If the only way our voices are heard is through targeted civil disobedience this is what we need to do.
