Scam PSA:
Heads up folks, there are now bots on here who will make clone accounts and dm you asking for donations if you offer support to real people. New platform means you are less likely to have dm history with someone so even if you think you know them, just be extra observant.

I'm good since my DMs are set to Private
1. Use the "Followers" feed. If you're lucky, you'd find different accounts posting the same exact word-to-word sentence around the same time. It's definitely a bot.
2. Mention-bombing other bsky accounts within a minute. It's definitely a bot.
4. Replying your post with "Do you want to push your gfm campaign? Contact this person" or something similar despite you're not attaching any gfm link.

Based on what I've seen on the list, they're legitimate block lists, not fake ones.
*As of late, some people have been making fake block lists. For example, lists
but they blocked me first so I couldn't see what they were doing :(
I told them to go donate to my GFM instead and they just started getting pushy about downloading Discord
New site, same scams 🫠
Notice that the one asking for money is the hyphenated one.
toysdream (the real one)
toys-dream (the scammer)
This is why you need to double check to make sure things are correct in these situations!
Harsh as it sounds if I gave to everyone who asked I'd be on the streets myself
i mean, catturd getting destroyed within minutes of showing up means we've finally got a functional safety team, right?
No one can spoof my domain. They can try a lookalike, but basic internet security 101 of checking the URL applies here and it'll stave off most spoofers and phishers
all reported and all suspended
this shit is getting so old
I work in the abuse department myself (not Bluesky), and you couldn't even imagine how long the complaint may just sit there due to the overall load.
One word - triaging.
Except billionaires.
Not only is the handle wrong but the message is disturbingly dry/cut&paste AND the email doesn't make sense.
Stay safe out there
(You can look at the posts section of the lists to see what theyre saying, much of it is slipping in)
Heres a link to known scam emails (in a how to avoid thread) updated as of last week
That number looks familiar.
I reported the actual DM rather than the account and that seemed to be acted on really fast.
Also recommending lists by @rahaeli.bsky.social @endharassment.net & @numb.comfortab.ly
This thread also might be helpful (vetting blocklists) https://bsky.app/profile/rahaeli.bsky.social/post/3lb6hh3m5kk2z
Thankfully the mod team was swift to remove them but who knows how overwhelmed they may end up given how many users are here now.
I believe this email address has been going around for awhile too. Looks familiar…
