Have you noticed as you age that you’re starting to talk out loud to yourself for the first time or that it’s increasing? Theories as to why this might be happening? For me I think it’s because I can no longer hear my inner thoughts.

I have ADHD, which got quite bad I think due to pandemic & menopause?
Helps keep me going in the right direction: heading downstairs to grab my glasses….”glasses, glasses, glasses…”
Repeat for everything.
Otherwise, I am spinning in circles and would start making bread. Which I never do.
🙄
If I didn’t talk to myself nothing would get done. I’ve always talked to myself. If others have a problem with that, just pretend you are talking on Bluetooth.
Oh ok good, not just me lol. The big one for me is the uncontrollable need to say out loud “I have to pee” every time I need to go to the bathroom. Just to myself, for no apparent reason whatsoever.
For me, I listen to those inner(most) thoughts a hell of a lot more now than I did when I was younger. They were like little whispers of what my heart and soul wanted, then. Now, they are blaring foghorns and I'm here for the conversation if we need to have it. 😆
I have done that all my life so, no. Maybe it’s increasing but I attributed that to working by myself more over the last five years… now I’m going to over analyze this.
I not only read all of this out loud, but also planned out loud what to say about it. If you'll excuse me, I have to discuss, out loud, my decision to hit reply.
