I disagree. The Tampa area can support an MLB team, but there are infrastructure issues plaguing them in their current location. If you don't live in St. Petersburg, it's incredibly difficult to get to and from the ballpark.

I don’t think people truly understand this factor. For anyone further than 5 miles, there’s really only one access point to the Trop - I-275, and that’s the only way in and out for the ENTIRE market.

The Preds arena cost $144M to build in 1998 ($296M adjusted). The Rays proposed new park is estimated at $1.5B and Sternberg wants it completely free, and already doesn’t spend on players.

The reason Vegas is an outlier and would take on the A’s is because they’re just an entertainment destination. Volume options for tourism is their business model.

I don’t know that the bachelorette part market in Nashville brings in the same level of revenue
