Man, I miss video rental stores.
Screw modern convenience, I wanna have a minor panic attack trying to pick a game and a movie for the weekend solely based on the cover art and hoping I make the right choice
I know it doesn't SOUND like a better time, but damn, it just was.

Never succeeded but I had a lot of fun.
We decided to rent a few movies and upon coming home his wife pointed out we'd rented the same two movies we had just handed in.
Those were the days. π
I remember my legs absolutely thumping as I'd just rode from highschool to the Rental Store as fast as I could .
I remember it being totally worth it.
Hopefully
I also credit renting to try out Final Fantasy 7 when I somehow heard nothing about it.
Even better when you realize the game is actually a damn good shmup instead of what you thought it was gonna be!
It's like winning the lottery!
For...the weekend.
I played so many more games when I could rent as well. My gaming life is much borrower now without the option (and PSN sub isn't the same)
Landlords with a rental side business as a value add. Pretty clever way to stay going until the 2020s
I know what to do with those old boxes!
Add a slot machine arm to the side and randomly select a movie πΏ
Bring back Redbox!!!
β¦look what they took from us!
I streamed to a very small audience last year, but regardless of that they offered incentives to help in a charity stream I did β @gamefly.bsky.social is a ride or die company for me
having too much of a good thing is the easiest way to describe life right now
like...if you don't gotta get up and go, you don't gotta make decisions and take chances, you just get what you want, how can you enjoy what you like?
we peaked 20 years ago
i forget how long weve been around lol
