My life is actually in that spot: every end of the last 3 years I say "The new one will be better, it cannot go worse." And every year is far worse than the previous.

I don't know for how long I can take it and keep recovering. But thanks for sharing, because it makes me feel like I'm not alone.

January is 20 years for me. It is hard... but it's not all been bad. I have had some good times in among the rough times and, somehow, my brain still opts for the glass half full approach.
We can always endure so much more than we think. It beats the alternative. ❤️‍🩹✌🏼

This is where I am right now. Sometimes acceptance is enough. The battle is tiring. Constantly working towards recovery is exhausting. It can be depressing, forever reaching for improvement that may never come. It's ok to stop, rest, and maybe try again next week.

I get something similar with what I call 'avoidance syndrome'. I see something ahead in my life which reminds me of the start of a bad situation in my past. I suddenly see the floor covered in eggshells or landmines, and I turn away thinking "Nope, can't go there again". 🫣😄
