I always think of you as The MERL, but if The is part of your name shouldn’t it be TMERL like TNA? I have never forgiven the Tate for insisting on being just Tate?
A quick glance around a few museums suggests that they have "The..." when written out in full, but drop it when turned into an acronym like MOSI, NRM, etc.
I can't help you with this but I would like to share that because my title Mx isn't always available I often have to choose a default "other", so then I get emails and letters to "Dear Other Duffy", which I very much enjoy
Once had an ebay seller phone me in a panic because I hadn't put a honorific.
Dunno what they thought would happen, maybe there's separate chutes at the sorting office for gender like there is for 2nd class. 🙄
You should own the THE, you're not just A museum of rural life, nobody could compare to you guys on here, you're a joy to follow and definitely THE.....
“Museum of English Rural Life?”
“Yes.”
“_The_ Museum of English Rural Life?”
“No, I’m _a_ Museum of English Rural Life. Haven’t you heard? We come in six-packs now.”

in the plus column for not changing... it's easy to spot a bot if they all start with "Hi, the" and create a rule that marks it as a robot, to which you could auto-reply with a sheep-looking robot??? (this has gone very Wallace and Gromit, which I'm not going to apologise for 😂)

Now that this is resolved, any other issues that need a solution?
