When I was a kid I was under the naive impression that try is is what happened at the UN, that world leaders got together to solve problems (yeah other than the whole Cold War thing), what a world we live in today where we spend more time attacking trans people than solving existential crises

Scientists think there's a decent chance that, if global temps rise 2 degrees above pre-industrial levels, it could trigger a cascade of tipping points that further accelerate warming, up to 5 or 6 degrees.
