Also I didn't realize it's about (inspired by?) THE Siegfried, I thought (just started earlier) it was just hype to see characters explored in this particular era
he was developed and called Siegfried before I got really deep into OG Siegfried lore but then as I kept working I decided to do a little bit of syncretism — the original folkloric inspiration for Siegfried came from this https://katewagner.neocities.org/ss/p/misc/otherworld
also since I’m in the sharing mood, pictured below is the library I amassed for this project and the archive I have of translated and English papers, maps, genealogies, etc related only to the Lords of Pettau
also some of my Ptuj castle archival collection including an 18th century map and postcard, a 20th century woodcut, stamps from Yugoslavia, and the full 1971 reprinting of the 17th century monograph Topographia Ducatus Styriae
So cool. I've always wanted a linocut tattoo, but haven't gotten one yet. I have great blackwork thigh pieces from Pony Reinhardt, though - one is sea-themed and the other land- and air-themed.
immense complement esp bc that’s the hardest part for me. I’m always worried the characters are too modern (with Siegfried himself I can at least get around a bit of medieval misogyny via the profound dead mother guilt)
well, I wasn't referring to reflecting the psychology of the middle ages so much as I was referring to reflecting the psychology surrounding the inciting incident, so to speak
