I bought a muffin baking pan at an estate sale this past weekend. It was marked made in Canada 🇨🇦 and that alone made me smile because I know it’s good quality.
I don't know where you're buying your groceries, but all the grocery stores in BC have great whacks of products labeled "Made in Canada". I'm able to shop for most of what I want from those shelves.
Ever hear of slotting fees?
International corporate psychopaths literally buy shelf space.
Outbid small Canadian producers just to shove sugar bombs in your face.
It’s not free market.
It’s rigged market.
Greed over country isn’t the exception.
It’s the operating principle.
international sections in grocery stores are awesome. Filled with people super happy to find anything from home, even if it's not something they love (I hate the maple shaped cookies, too sweet. When we lived in Aotearoa I'd buy two boxes whenever I saw them.)
😊 On the west coast, the label Atlantic salmon is associated with fish farms.
I won’t argue the best coast but can saw freshly caught in open water is awesome!
I always look for Canadian products at my supermarket in America now.
I love the wafers from Voortman I have been eating them forever I just wish they still made the banana ones. I love the maple syrup. I'm trying to buy as much Canadian products as I can find in America. 🇨🇦
Meerrrddee. J'vit en Thailande et y as rien dutou Icit.. asti de tabarouette.. Mais, maman vie la-bas, et est en vie aussi. 😁 Donc Hrmm.. coup de téléphone annuel avancé.. 😉
In US we get a lot of Canadian baked goods, french onion soup, jams, et al. and of course lots of maple syrup. we also have Vermont maple syrup, so I tend to alternate brands. I notice where food comes from when I shop, but do not have all the sources memorized.
Well I am glad for Canada. I hope they set some of that money aside for the aid package we’re going to need when everything crashes and the shooting starts.
It’s a solid Quebecois section, and they’re a great part of Canada. If they had a refrigerated shelf, it would need to include cheese curds for poutine, peameal bacon, smoked salmon, and some of that dill dip I’ve been hearing about.
Seems like Trump under estimated Canada when he attacked them, thinking they were vulnerable to a take over. The loyalty & support Canada has received is immense. No wonder Trump hasn’t talked about Canada lately.
I made home made waffles (shout out @theauthorguy.bsky.social ) for our Mothers' Day brunch and we went through most of a medium bottle of Maple Syrup. Luckily, there is more in the freezer and in storage (it was a good year for Syrup this year)
All around Europe people are buying Canadian produce. A continent that has suffered fascism & are facing Russian Imperialism head on admire their sheer guts against Trump & his bullying Fox regime. The GOP are accommodating a fascist takeover. Canada 🇨🇦 free forever.
But let's get real, the rate of solving murders for Indigenous women is 3% lower. A bigger problem is the lack of help provided so they don't end up in the situation to go missing. Reserves driving someone to a city and dumping them there homeless isn't a solution either.
And there are some important aspects to these sections as it's for products that have long shelf lives and aren't already easily available over here. Some "missing" stuff may just be in the regular parts of the supermarket.

Merci beacoup mes amis
2. I did some work for a maple syrup company & was surprised by just how much of that product went to Europe and Asia.
#AtlanticCanada
It’s fried cheese curds
Spare me your stupidity.
Maple syrup, beer . . . and?
Mexico has always had a spot 🌮

They’re pushing U.S. “salsa” like it’s life-changing.
Because nothing says “national loyalty” like promoting the enemy’s condiments while Canadian farms fold.
La Fin Du Monde biere et Sirop d'érable.
As it should be.

I'm just teasing you...mostly. 😏

Only one poutine I can stomach - the one with squeaky cheese and gravy!
I was very touched by all the American flags flying out of apartment and store windows
They have never forgotten what we did for them
I’d bet all I have, those American flags no longer fly
Don’t blame them one bit
They've been featured on Hot Ones ( the chicken wing eating show )
They are delicious
The rest of the world appreciates quality and our lack of belligerent chest thumping & flag waving.
FYI Nun's farts
There aren’t many things we see imported, but my pantry is always stocked up with the best maple syrup!
(This post brought to you by the "Butter - there's nothing like it" ads of my youth).
If it exists, it's quite rare.
So yeah, way, way before.
Also: poutine 🫠
Its fuckin huge and made in my neighbors country.
Second I get some money, imma check them out~!
