There is no need to cede anything to these assholes. “They’re robbing your social security to pay for Elon’s tax cut.” That’s it, that’s the message. You don’t need a Poli Sci degree to understand it, it’s impossible to dispute, and everyone will feel it. Everything else is just a subset of that.

IIRC no tea party group was ever denied 401c4 status. And these groups were clearly set up as political organizations authorized to hide their donors. They created a web of organizations that could swap unregulated money and feed it into political campaigns.
None of them should have been approved.

I recall that when Joe Walsh finished his turn against Trump and started doing some major advocacy on behalf of Democrats, he said that a big hurdle for people were that the Democrats were "wimps." You could rattle off policy after policy they liked, but they'd still rather vote for an asshole.
