It just feels a little odd how many of these are getting made, ya know? Like the fact that this weird piece of lab equipment is being sold by Costco and Home Depot is unsettling in a strange way.

Looks to be a dead ringer for your machine. I found it through Alibaba. Ideally the US company would do prepurchase QC to make sure that the units they are selling meet the requirements they specified. In some cases it is straight dropshipping.
When I have the back off the machine I did a little poking and the PCB on the display board did have harvest right branding, so I'm fairly confident that the company is doing something beyond just importing - but yeah, lots of very similar machines exist.
