I’m not sure about the word “tame”. Tate is more public about his misogyny whereas we don’t know about everything Trump has done but I think it would scare even his strongest haters if known.

Of course, this is intentional. And I'd argue that it dates back to the Access Hollywood tapes, which were likely his biggest vulnerability in 2016, and forced him to create the illusion that, even if he does hate women, at least he's not the worst of men.
