Marc Thiessen has possibly the worst take/excuse for this bit of inexcusable incompetence and obvious attempt to avoid accountability, which is no surprise to anyone who is familiar with the inexcusable incompetence of Marc Thiessen.

The Signal leak is more than a glimpse, it’s a blueprint, part of a coordinated effort to control, crush the press, reward obedience, & punish defiance. Where loyalty replaces law & truth is whatever power says it is.
Former speech writer for Dubya and Rummy pens wholly disingenuous take on Signalgate, published in an oligarchic billionaire owned, Right Wing tabloid (until recently a reputable newspaper of record)? Why, colour me surprised indeed.
By attrition Marc Theissen plans to be the last columnist standing at WaPo as Jeff Bezos berates him for not emptying all of the waste bins before leaving last night .
I initially read that headline as “ineffective” and thought to myself what is Kara referring to. Then re-read and thought to myself is this guy high, stupid, brain washed, or just wants to be contrarian.
That absolutely makes not one bit of sense. Doubling down on the lies, doesn't make this disregard for the security of our military and the retention of secure transmission any less serious!
That didn't happen
But if it did, it's not that bad
But if it is, what the Other Guy did was worse
But if it wasn't, it was good, actually

this administration is our first openly fascist authoritarian administration and is flouting the constitution and judges rulings. I really hoped that there would be a quasi militaristic intervention and a temporary junta govt to give back to a real POTUS, like Kamala. I was wrong. Democrats wont.
A bit like expecting a thief to criticize robbery as a vocation. We need to sustain a free and fearless press (e.g. The Atlantic) and organized opposition with relentless and loud leaders. Not afraid to use every tool available. Can't just hope for the mid-term. This vile group has won twice.
See, if I was writing a comedic work, and wanted to have a joke where I have somebody try to spin something ridiculous in a good way... it would read like this
It would have a similar tone as the fake commercials in Robocop and Tokyo Gore Police
I honestly thought this headline was in opposition. Dude has a point that there's a repugnant efficiency in having all of the worst fascist lap dogs in America all in one group chat.
Fascists of the past would have loved such a thing.
I'm just getting we're all lucky I was born with a non-violent brain and that my daddy beat me enough like Marc Thiessen clearly needed more of from his daddy.
Tech Bros think they are all Leonardo da Vinci polymaths. And their takeaways from tech “sales culture” is that it is all about spin and narrative, not trust and value. Hence the most ridiculous defense for the indefensible.
Opinion: Mark Thiessen’s idea of how top secret complex kinetic aerial attack operations should be viewed has all the competence of a lobotomized roach.
Marc is a right-wing toady, who will parrot back anything the GOP wants him to say, just so he can 'own the libs'. He's not even worth arguing against, as he'll just hide behind pointless rhetoric.
If you want to tear things down, you need a sledgehammer. He put together a “team” of dumpster find sledgehammers with the common goal of punishing Americans. No competence required.
Please buy the Washington Post and fire him. I have about two hundred bucks in my 401K and you can have it all, if that will help. (Well, I had $200 this morning. I think it's down to about $4.12 cents at this point).
Fantastic! Next time, add all of us and maybe we can crowdsource some national intelligence solutions for you while getting different perspectives on problem-solving from the governments we're acting against.
I cancelled my WPost sub years ago largely due to the unbelievably bad commentaries by Thiessen and some nobody in British Columbia who wrote equally awful pieces about Canada. Thiessen makes hacks seem like pros. He's going to be in the 9th Circle of Hell for his godawful writing and opinions.
Thiessen has only one way to look at Trump - unfortunately he’s wearing blinders and worse. Those of us who read a few of his “opinions” realized he is seemingly regurgitating fantasy when it comes to Trump.
One of the many reasons this native Washingtonian canceled. Other folks can contribute to Ball-less Bezo’s wedding. Thiessen is predictively defending the indefensible.
Wasn't that open the stupidest rational for one the stupidest violations of national security since Oliver North's bumble-headed cake cock up. And this guy was a presidential speechwriter. Jeesh!
We can thank their incompetence and obvious attempt to avoid accountability for our now knowing that (1) war crimes were committed, and (2) without the President being part of the loop. In fact, part of the discussion was about whether anyone knew what the President wanted.
This kind (Thiessen) are paid to create these fanciful explanations of insane acts of the extreme right wing. Just like those on Fox, he probaby doesn't believe any of this - but his paycheck depends on grinding lies and stupidity out like sausage.
After reviewing and publicly releasing all their top secret US spy docs, China, Russia, and Iran attest to the brilliance of Trump's admin. "We applaud their inadvertent 'transparency.' It helps us to have access to everything the admin is thinking and saves us a lot of money."
If your goal is to undermine the United States to make it easier to invade sure. Really feels like they're dismantling the place for Putin these days hoping he'll bless them with an apartment and hot wife.
The President is being misled whether by others ( Stephen Miller pretend lawyer in waiting) and the billionaire’s or himself on a revenge tour both foreign or domestic.

NYT's either supports fascism or it does not, which is it?

1) Write an honest headline: "The Signal chat's big takeaway? Trump appointees are dangerously incompetent."
2) Keep the first part and write the exact opposite of the second part: "The Signal chat's big takeaway? Trump has built an effective team."
Like humor, but lying.
Fascists of the past would have loved such a thing.

Believe RFK Jr when he reveals that this was always the plan. Right out of the Harvard Business School Cliff's Notes, probably.

(That's how much pain it caused).
To that extent, he is correct.
His team is murderously competent.
Do something America.
How do I sign up to be a NY Times Op Ed pundit?
"c" for some reason. Mark with a "k"? All good. "c"? This guy's a fucking asshole.
There will be a reckoning when this is all over .
Biggest takeaway from Tariffgate: Trump believes in the promise of America.
