Green - stuff that can't be recycled and is considered not green

Blue - for all recyclable 'green-er' stuff

Brown - dead green stuff, like grass and leaves (note, only via additional fee, most people dump grass cuttings in woods or in extra thick, non perishable bags in the green coloured bin)

Living in Germany (Orange, “recyclables” including plastics and metal; blue, paper/cardboard; brown, organics; black, general waste; plus white/green/brown glass (separate bins on the street.) And people *watch* you and send you passive-aggressive notes if you do it wrong.
