Perhaps. But let’s remember, the team had to replace HC, OC, DC all of the offense except Loveland and 9 D starters, without an effective QB. (Not all Moore’s fault) Will Johnson effectively opted out of the year. Losses to Oregon, Texas, Indiana and Ohio State (being real) aren’t awful.

There are still sometimes some baffling play-calls from Wink, but he’s shown a willingness to adapt lately that was missing at the start of the season. I hope he keeps it up.

I once had an extended convo with a college (swim) coach about how things work in that world.

What surprised me was the relatively light workload. I assumed every sport is essentially year round, but nah coaches have an offseason.

Anyway, Kirk hasn’t done any work in at least a year, and it shows.

If Joe Sloan doesn’t take the ECU job, he will probably be available. Don’t know if that will be for the better or worse after the year he had at LSU, but he has his Jayden Daniels year to show Underwood. DC is a lot harder. I wish we had gotten to Zach Orr before the Ravens made him DC. #GoBlue

I gotta say I think Wink has been okay. The offense has been so bad they’ve asked too much of the defense and the D has mostly met the task.

You give the team this D, a Cade-level QB and not Kirk and this is a 9-3/10-2 team.
