My little environmentalists didn't want the giant piles of road salt in our neighborhood to get into streams and rivers, so we formed a little cleanup crew. You're welcome, frogs!

We went to a "living green" event at the library last summer where we got to meet folks from the county's environmental services dept. They had a table with info about keeping waterways clean, including how the county uses brine trucks now to avoid overusing road salt.
My littles were obsessed with the brine truck on display and the lovely guy there was happy to show them how the brine nozzles work, and let them honk the horn.
But big kid? *Fixated* on the display showing how much salt you should use for an average driveway. He monitors my usage now, lol

How could I not go along with that? The FROGS, Mommy. The salt kills their tadpoles!
He's gonna go places. His heart will break many times on the way but it's my job to coach him to be resilient enough to hold onto what he believes in.
