That's an interesting idea. That there is some heterogeneity amongst nuclei in a syncytium doesn't necessarily qualify each of them as BI's alone. Is a single nucleus a lineage forming entity that is subject to Darwinian natural selection? I'm not convinced since there is a high degree of ....
