This is what I was saying before: capitalism attaches worth to wealth. 'Worth' here means: Whose life is considered 'worth' saving? Whose life matters?

IMO that's where capitalism leads to dehumanization, because every life matters, regardless of one's tax bracket.

That same thinking can be used to strip people of rights while they’re still living. You could say they’re too poor to be worthy of care and dignity.

Anyways, when I say I find rich people's deaths mattering more 'interesting,' I mean that I find it unjust, horrific, and morally bankrupt. A life is a life is a life.

I think it's not so much about wealth, but about power. When the powerful become bigger than morals, ethics and the law they escape justice. So only one type of justice is left. They come down harder on the perpetrators of that type of justice bcos if they didn't they'd have to face themselves.

They go hand in hand...but I think in this case, the idea that a vigilante can get away with meting out punishment is the impetus behind all of effort to find him. Injustice is so embedded into our culture due to the corruption of the wealthy that this type of killing could galvanise the masses.
