The suspect in the UnitedHealthcare CEO saw himself as a hero fighting a corrupt health insurance industry, the police said in an internal report. In his manifesto, summarized by the police, he described the killing as a “symbolic takedown.”

What was so wrong with his action outside of usual moral argument against vigilantism. Clearly the CEO was evil and the law was not handling him so why do we condemn the killer? Don't be evil and unaccountable if you don't want these outcomes
Can the NY Times ask how the NYPD can devote 1,000's of man-hours to this crime while shootings in the low-income sections of the city barely get investigated? The police are still investigating what bus stop the killer took, like it matters. This is not justice for all.
With the level of detail written, I suspect he did write this.
The crazy thing is, we were all assuming this kind of history came as his justification. So many have experienced this same terrible treatment by health insurance companies while people suffer daily.
Stupid argument, but hey you’re ok with murder so bravo. Also in the UK we educate ourselves in all things worldly, not just the bubble around us. Have fun endorsing murder 👍🏼
How sad that someone is driven to kill to show how corrupt our health system is. Our health insurance system has nothing to do with health and everything to do with making money for the wealthy that run and own it.
UnitedHealthCare is, and always will be the perpetrator in this equation.
It's amazing to watch you people to justify millions upon millions of graves UHC filled under the premise of maximization of shareholder value.
He was (is actually) a hero eho stood up to the corrupt inhumane insurance industry. That's how people see him, not sure if NYT is on the same team tho. Not sure at all.
The whole violence is bad but only when it goes up the hierarchy thing again. Same BS as owning slaves is legal and but killing slave owners isn't, not hard to figure out which one you want to hang out with.
Americans talk abput everything , except the real problem behind this case. No proper healthcare system , corrupt bullshit government , and then you vote the rapist back into office. Sorry but you all deserve what you get. Eat the ritch.
It’s quite ignorant to keep saying “you” and “you all” - no, actually many tens of millions didn’t vote for him and don’t deserve anything. Maybe you’ve heard the US is an intensely divided nation these days. Blanket statements really miss the mark.
Am I on X ? The guy who was killed was allowed by the US government to thrive off of people suffering from diseases. This business is lucrative because any form of helping others is seen as communism by the majority of Americans. This man did not deserve to die and this killer is not a hero.
These companies perpetrate unspeakable evil and violence against us every day, but it's acceptable because the right people make money on that suffering.
I have the same spinal injury as Luigi — the only reason I didn’t get stuck with the spinal fusion was that my mother got a second option from an out-of-network physician who said it was better to deal with the pain.
There is better treatment available today — 🇺🇸 healthcare doesn’t cover it… 🇪🇺 does
"Yeah, I know, that sucks
that your HMO ain't doing what you thought it would do.
But everybody's gotta die sometime.
And we can't save everybody, it's the best that we can do"
Just a reminder that health insurance companies don't provide healthcare. They profit from gatekeeping access to healthcare. Doctors, nurses, and hospitals provide healthcare. 💖
Luigi Mangione's manifesto is still up https://archive.is/7jUsF where he details his mother’s chronic pain and suffering and denied treatments. It is POWERFUL and I recommend reading it.
Plutocide: The systematic elimination of the plutocratic class, usually preceded by years or decades of abuse and indifference towards the majority of a society's population by the plutocratic class.

The majority of Americans see him as one too, NYT lol.

Also Hitler didn't personally kill anyone. If you had video of someone shooting Hitler, would you also clutch your pearls and say murder is wrong?

CEO of the HealthCareIndustrialComplex makes 10s of millions. Average Joe/Jill pays 12k++ for insurance per year and gets delayed, denied, etc...
Peace, love, r.

Luigi allegedly killed one man with a firearm.
That man he killed made one hell of a profit letting THOUSANDS people die and suffer.
A lone gunman stopped a serial killer, and for some reason you're upset?
This IS the good guy with a gun.
