By 2035, older adults will outnumber people under 18 in the U.S. for the first time, the Census Bureau estimates. But the impending wave of boomers is either a crisis or an opportunity — depending on whom you ask. https://nyti.ms/4gr3GF9

Shame the Mango Mussolini doesn't understand population demographics and is rounding up the solution to this economic problem and sending them to concentration camps (oops sorry 'detention centres').
If you are a rich boomer you want as many poor people as possible to work themselves to death for your relaxed pension. The generation of boomer heirs have enough with that inheritance so half the world can die as far as they are concerned
All I hope is that by then, we have made at least some steps toward repair from the current actions being taken. I would not want children or any person for that matter to live in a place where our leadership is harming our world and our people. Our people deserve much better that the last two weeks
Ah, the grand American media tradition of discussing a coming giant problem and saying “yes it will likely be hell for normal people but who is gonna make money off this suffering?”
These newly older adults will not be Boomers. They will remain Generation X, even though you NEVER write about us. Born approximately 1965-1980 (unironically named the forgotten generation), they are starting to turn 60 this year. In 10 years they’ll start turning 70. Please do basic reporting.
"Silver tsunami" Clearly @nytimes.com needs a lesson in reframing aging. The increase of the number of older adults is only a crisis if this country doesn't wake up and provide affordable housing and a secure safety net so they can live in safely and in financial security.

It's only a "crisis" if you think that a rich person's right to a low tax rate is more important than an old person's right to be alive.

Thick as fuck.
