Ok but like, I’m on Season 2 and I’m still trying to figure out why people like this show so much. Is it just rich people being deplorable? Genuine question, no hate or shame. Someone explain it to me please.
However. The opening art work is amazing. I keep pausing to look at the details in the murals. The settings, clothes and landscape are quite beautiful. It’s an artsy soap opera basically.
I love it. The slow pace and the artsy cuts between scenes. The heteronormative local couple is cute. Complete with her wanting him to be ambitious and want to travel, when he just wants to be happy where he is.
The weird family are all great. It’s America waiting to find out the dad’s a crook.
Is it the most popular? I think people are watching hoping for a fantastic ending but most have said the first four or five episodes are dull, boring but they struggle through them hoping for a great ending. I think season 2 was probably the best.
I’m four episodes in and it really isn’t that good or interesting. I think this says more about the impact the pandemic had on quality television than the quality of this show.
Yes. I agree. And it was much more balanced in the past. But yeah I’m tired of constant doom. I get it. I know it’s bad. I’m doing what I can. But I’m no good to anyone if I spend 24/7 mired in shit.
i know. i totally understand the time for organization and outrage but seeing 90% of my feed like that is pretty exhausting. and then getting shit on when you make a joke in the comments bc you’re being “unserious”
and then seeing/having no engagement on non-political posts. 🫠
only 70-80%? lucky you! mine feels like 90%. The rest is…other stuff i’m not interested in that i’m not gonna type bc i don’t want the algorithm to show me more of it 😂
it’s like other convos or topics can’t even get started.
I give credit to social media rather than the amazing show writing this season. It’s been extremely underwhelming, but hey, why wouldn’t Americans love an incest plot?
I don’t know why. The plot of this Lotus is barely creeping forward. For the first 4 episodes particularly—nothing happened. Lots of atmosphere. How many frickin times can the dad in the Duke shirt fantasize about suicide? Oh, the monk’s words changed him. Nope. Fake out.
I do not think Parker Posey had any character development. She was wasted in that part. Most of the others had nothing going on from episode to episode. What ever happened with Jim Hollinger and Rick’s mom? Hoped they would tell us. Still looking forward to White Lotus 4.
Awful season. First nothing happened in the first four or five episodes, then just degenerate trash, boring to boot, with mediocre writing and casting. But the cinematography is visually appealing at times. And I'm glad Jennifer Coolidge is nowhere to be seen.
Still underwhelming compared to the previous seasons. And today’s finale will be equally underwhelming. The problem has been its very slow pace, weak plot and lack of great moments, including the x scene between brothers.
i’m still watching it but i agree this to be the weakest season thus far.
the numbers may be real though bc it’s kind of like Severance, everybody talking abt it it made more ppl catch up before the new season started - me included!
Yeah, too many men with pained looks on their faces for extended shots for no plot reason. I just don't care at this point. I hope they all get shot in the finale

Second one second
This third one has its moments and overall is still pretty good.

but yeah, this is the first season where i haven’t really been actively trying to figure out who dies/who’s responsible.
they’re all pretty annoying. Except Chelsea 😉
