Senator Chuck Schumer and his allies are working aggressively to stretch a Senate map that offers few opportunities for Democrats to reclaim a majority in 2026, recruiting candidates who might be able to pull off upsets in red states.

Whatever our current complaints since Trump returned as president, Schumer has a decent record when it comes to recruiting quality candidates, or passing major legislation.
That man is useless. Why the hell is he still clinging to power with his claws? Resign, Chuck, let a younger, more relevant and aggressive person take the lead because you can't anymore.
Basically they will recruit Republican Light candidates, who will either lose since no difference.
Possibly worse they win and won't help any Dem President or policy.
Aka Sinema and Manchin
I try not to read the NYT because it is mostly fascist apologetics and always has been, so someone let me know: are Dems just trying to find the most right wing, immigrant hating, corporate bootlicking, Silicon Valley fart smelling candidates who are willing to run with a D next to their name?
Schumer loves to lead using mainstream media editorials. But there’s a Democratic civil war in progress which is successfully threatening mainly white male blue dog Democrats who are aligned with Republicans and who hate their own base lol . @davidhogg.bsky.social @chrislhayes.bsky.social
Red States are parasites. Everyone knows this—especially the citizens of Blue States who are over-taxed to subsidize the people in Red States who are incapable of living within their means.
Try reading the article before posting. Regaining a Democratic majority in the Senate in 2026 is going to be a nearly insurmountable task regardless of whom the Majority Leader is.
Might help if we don’t have the guy largely despised by his own voting bloc running things, yeah?
Maybe if there wasn’t some geriatric dinosaur refusing to fight, they’d have a better looking map? No? Just keep doing the same shit that hasn’t worked since Johnson? Neat
If Democrats want to win they better start talking f****** common sense. Tell us how you're going to support deporting illegals f****** talk about it! State that men should not be in women's sports. That's why Democrats have lost because common sense has gone out the f****** window. State your plan!
Develop a program that the average American will appreciate. Not fringe. Not just Blacks. Bread and butter issues. Not social engineering. Find leaders. Current r insolvent
Seeking qualified candidates for 6 year posting. Applicants must be over 70, capable of talking endlessly while saying nothing, able to abandon all principles with minimal prompting, and comfortable with their head lodged in the sand (or other dark crevice). Independant wealth a bonus.
Leaders, who have lost because they became alienated from their constituencies, trying to secure candidates who will not deviate from the policies that led to their defeat only demonstrate that their goal is control of the party at all costs, even if that ultimately leads to the Party’s downfall.
Well if Schumer is on the job I’m not worried. Look at all the good work he’s done. They’ve lost all the good will they gained since the Obama administration and lost all three branches of government. I’m sure they’ll make big gains. Especially by calling everyone who doesn’t support genocide Nazis
In other news, Trump's uncertainty about whether he "needs to uphold the Constitution" offered an opportunity for a viral front-page headline, but @nytimes.com opted to kneel before Zod instead.
Trump says he's the world's greatest negotiator. But 100 days into his second term, he's delivering more tantrums than treaties, more chaos than contracts — and America is footing the bill. This isn’t The Art of the Deal. It’s The Cost of the Con.

I read that as nap, and I'm betting my version is more applicable.
We are cooked.
Thank goodness Grandpa Simpson is working aggressively, otherwise he'd fall asleep.

Disclaimer: I'm a senior.
The Republicans may be underdogs, but they’re aggressively working to stretch the Senate map and reclaim a majority in 2026!
